You Are Not Alone

Hello everyone,

I hope that everyone is taking care of themselves. I know that in every message we see, every email we read, and every commercial/newscast we watch starts off by saying "As we all know..." or "in these uncertain times...", so it is very well known that we are all going through some degree of change from the COVID-19 outbreak. Some of us are now working from home, some of us have gotten laid off from our jobs, and some of us, due to health concerns, are sheltering in place under quarantine. No matter what your circumstance is, your reaction and emotions to this change are valid and we hope to this post today brings you a sense of calmness in a current state of chaos.

We encourage you to give yourself grace and allow yourself to adjust to a situation that is out of the ordinary. This time can trigger a lot of overwhelming feelings, such as anxiety and depression, which can trigger unhealthy behaviors such as alcoholism, suicidal thoughts/behaviors, and panic attacks. Remember you are not alone, where ever you are in your process, and we encourage you to (safely!) reach out to whoever you need at this time. Even though its doesn't seem like it, this is all temporary and we will be back to our usual routines as soon as possible.

So take time to check in with your self today-- even if it is just for 5 minutes. How would you describe your current state of being? What do you need right now in this moment? Is what you need healthy or unhealthy? Are you practicing safe social distancing/quarantine to keep yourself and others safe? Feel free to share your experience below!
